Green City Market BBQ

This Thursday, Big Bowl joins fifty chefs, wineries, and various farmers to support and celebrate the Green City Market.  If you’re not busy, there are still tickets available to the event that promises to be one of the best BBQ’s of the summer.  All proceeds go to support the market and its programs. 

To participate in the event, restaurants must be regular patrons of the farmers and the market.  Big Bowl buys weekly from Klug Farms, Green Acres, and Becker Lane Organics.  Becker Lane produces some of the best tasting pork I have ever sampled.  The flavor is clean and the meat is well marbled making it juicy and tender.  Becker Lane raises its hogs on open pasture and feeds them organic corn and soybeans grown on their farm.

Our menu for the event will feature BBQ pork belly and shoulder from Jude Becker’s Iowa farm and homemade pickles from Brent and Beth Eccles of Green Acres.  The pork will be served on warm steamed lotus buns with homemade hoisin sauce.  Its one of our favorites and with Jude’s luscious Berkshire pork we know you’ll love it too.  See you at Lincoln Park this Thursday from 6 – 8 PM.
