Green City Market Demo
Join me tomorrow morning at the Green City Market in Lincoln Park. Beginning at 10:30, Big Bowl will be demonstrating some of our favorite recipes using products from the farmers at the market. Fresh pickles, a personal favorite, are easy to make and can be made with almost any fresh vegetable. We’ll shop early in the morning, salt the vegetables, and demonstrate how to make the vinegar brine. Light and fresh, they go great with any summertime meal.
Hopefully, Kinnikinnick Farms will have enough fresh eggs for my demonstration and to take home. I’ll bring some Chinese chives from my garden and demonstrate a classic Chinese dish of scrambled eggs with Chinese chives and oyster sauce.
Finally, from our current specials menu, a simple chicken dish using market vegetables. Easy to put together at home, this dish features lots of fresh, seasonal vegetables with a light garlic wine sauce. The recipe for this stir fry as well as the pickles and eggs will be available on this website tomorrow.

Glad you enjoyed the tasting. It was fun for us too. The recipes are being posted later today - having difficulty with the link. The sauce is 1 cup of oyster sauce, 1/2 cup light (not lite) soy, and 1/4 cup granulated sugar. Thanks for stopping by the demo.

Hi Mark, I enjoyed your demo (especially the tasting part) today at Green City. You mentioned that the eggs and the chicken shared the same dressing and that the recipe would be online. I'm having trouble finding it.
