Shop until you dine

Attention all Mag Mile shoppers and everyone whose hunger heightens after scouring sale racks or leisurely browsing.

After spending all that money or time, enjoy Big Bowl's 3x3 menu from 8 p.m. until closing on Thursday, Sept. 8. It's the final day of the inaugural Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival - a week of retail events, celebrity appearances and just overall fun.

The 3x3 menus feature three different appetizers in three lower than usual price categories typically available only for three hours from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Here's what's in store at the Cedar and Ohio street locations:

For $2.99 - chicken or vegetable potstickers; chicken or vegetable dumplings; or spicy peanut noodles

For $3.99 - chickey satay; seasonal summer roll; or housemade chicken egg rolls

For $4.99 - Thai herb calamari; teriyaki glazed spareribs; or Chinese chicken lettuce wraps.

For the drink special, Lemon Honey Ade will be $5 (usually $8.95); for beer,  Goose Island Seasonal for $3 (312 at Cedar, Green Line at Ohio) usually $4.95 and for wine, two locally produced choices. Prairie State Cabernet Franc and August Hill Seyval Blanc for $4 (usually $9).

The 3x3 menus are served at the bar and surrounding tables.  Shopping or not, it's a fun way to meet up with friends after work and sample a variety of dishes at a very nice price.
